No generation has embodied the 'Kazi ni Kazi' tagline than the current one. One would think that the spread of technology would make them lazy but instead it has made them alert and alive to possibilities that their parents and those before them would never have thought of.

In a bid to perhaps understand these group of people, the older generation has before called them ‘the microwave generation’ alluding to the fact that any service can be received instantly.

In a rebuttal, Gen Z have created careers out of this new way of doing things and now make more money than the older generation ever thought possible at a young age.

From cleaning sofasets at a fee, delivering food and any other products, dancing on Tiktok and earning from it, this generation has redefined what a job is. This has slowly caused a decline of what was for a long time termed as traditional jobs.

More and more young people daily are removing their official dresses, suits and ties and putting on a t-shirt to delve into the world of new jobs.

Perhaps the most interesting thing is that the question commonly asked by interviewers on “what did your parents think when you decided to ditch law school for photography” will not be a relevant question anymore.

This is because parents of this generation have accepted that indeed things are changing and the jobs or careers that used to be frowned upon are actually the ones that are most marketable.

Some may have some qualms about it but when they see their 23-year-old driving a genuinely earned V8 and able to build their dream home, the questions fade in the background.

Yes, there are a few that have found a shortcut to success by duping people but the majority wake up every day and turn their hobbies into multimillion industries that will serve them till death.
