69-year-old Joseph Kang'ethe is set to reunite with his family after serving his 20-years jail term at the Nakuru Mens Prison.

Convicted at the age of 49 in 2005 this gentleman has severed his term and leaves the Nakuru men prison correctional center.

While speaking to him as he exited the men's prison he says his first step is to get in contact with the victim and seek her forgiveness.

"I want to apologize to the victim so that I can move on. I stand here remorseful of my action and go back to my community changed person," said Kang’ethe.

According to the officer in charge of welfare at the Nakuru Mens prison, Mr. David Macharia they send back to the community a changed man.

He added that Kang’ethe remained a good gentleman during his sentence and had even been promoted to a trustee among other inmates.

Mr Macharia called for the community to accept him with open arms and help him integrate back into the community.

Victor Osoo a psychologist working with Crime Si Poa organization, was presented during Kang'ethe's release and he said when inmates are brought in there are too off things that change in their life and they need someone to hold their hand.

Crime Si Poa has been there to offer counseling to inmates and train them of stress management and even financial management ahead of them going back to their families.

He Cities that one’s mental health is very crucial and inmates need some to walk with then through this journey. He adds that the trainings they receive while in prison is will help then be good advocated against crime when they get back in the community.

Kang’ethe's message to those enjoying freedom is for them not to engage in crime and jail time robes individuals time with their families and being productive members of society.

While in prison he underwent grade three to grade one of tailoring course and is now a skillful tailor. He wants to open up his own tailoring shop and hopes to train more youths in his community.

His plea to well wishes is to get someone to help him get tailoring machines so that he can build back his life from where he left and give back to the society by training young people in tailoring.
