Opened in 2012 as a restaurant, Eagle’s Point now identifies as a camping site on the shores of the magnificent Lake Elementaita.

Ms Venessa Pym the communication and public relation director, notes that they strive to make the place homely and friendly for all the guests.

Ms. Pym notes that Eagle’s point is privileged to have an open cliff edge adjacent to the lake where guests can just sit and watch the sunset.

"The sunsets are normally very beautiful. The sun spreads its rays on the horizon creating a beautiful pink/orange ray on the sky," she added.

Adjacent to the site is the Soysambu Conservancy.

The site has 20 cottages all available for a short term or long term stay.

The cottages at the camping site run from double rooms, twin rooms and family cottages with the rates varying from ksh 6,000 to Ksh 24,000 depending on whether the stay is half board or full board.

Alternatively, you could choose to camp and hire camping gear at the site for Ksh 2200 or hire camping grounds at Ksh 500 then bring along your camping gear.

Other than the peace and quiet, guests can enjoy arranged trips from the Camp. It could be a game drive, hiking, cool hot spring swims among other things.

You could alternatively catch a guided Camel or Horse tour from the camp all round to the conservancy and later set up a lunch picnic by the Lake enjoying a good view of the Flamingos.

Other than that, you could set out for hiking across the woods to the top of the sleeping warrior hill.

One can also explore the Kariandusi grounds and maybe later stretch to the Maji moto springs close to Kariandusi for a hot spring swim.
