Nakuru theatre lovers were treated to an evening of fun and laughter during the production of Where is Our Husband at the Nakuru Players Theatre last night.

The audience started arriving as early as 5.45pm, eagerly awaiting the 6pm show. Although the show started 30 minutes late, the gripping story quickly captured their attention and kept them entertained throughout the evening.

The play centred on John Mathenge, a tuk-tuk driver whose elaborate web of lies unravelled when one of his wives reported him missing to the police.

In a desperate attempt to hide his polygamous lifestyle, John fabricated a romantic relationship with his friend Stanley Wamugunda, leading to even more chaotic and comedy scenes.

This humorous yet thought-provoking tale of infidelity and loyalty struck a chord with the audiences. The plot's dramatic twists, sharp humour and relatable themes kept the audience riveted until the climactic finale, where John's deception left him homeless and without a wife.

Eric Muriuki who was part of the audience praised the cast for their outstanding performances, highlighting the wealth of talent in Nakuru's theatre scene.

He also praised the play for addressing societal issues while teaching valuable lessons through its engaging narrative.

Mercy Lengirasi echoed these sentiments, praising the versatility of the actors and the production's seamless blend of humour and realism. According to her the play resonated with the diverse audience, a clear sign of Nakuru's growing appreciation for theatre.
