Lights, camera, action! The stage was set for the premiere of the eagerly awaited play titled 'Kifo Cha Mende'.

From the moment the characters were introduced, it was clear that we were in for a rib-cracking show.

The performance was witty and engaging, opening with an uplifting musical that set the tone for an engaging show.

Kifo Cha Mende follows the journey of a man determined to avenge the murder of his family, a crime fuelled by greed for money and property.

The protagonist, Kevin, was orphaned after his father's business partner killed his parents. Driven by revenge, Kevin embarks on a mission to track down the culprits and make them pay.

His quest leads him to the Wamae family, whose twin daughters, though very different in character and lifestyle, each face their own challenges. But they too fall victim to a tragic murder, adding to the intrigue of the plot.

The play masterfully explores themes of love, friendship, betrayal and death.

Tabitha Chege and Dennis Mwangi praised the production, noting how relatable the story was to everyday life and trends.

They also appreciated the seamless character development and scene transitions, with the energy of the audience adding to the atmosphere.

Gladys Bella highlighted the clever wordplay which made it easy for her to connect with the play's themes.

She found the ending particularly gripping and thought-provoking, noting that it kept the audience on the edge of their seats until the very end.

"It was an excellent show and we need more performances like this in our theatres. I'll definitely be back for the second day," she says.

Kifo Cha Mende will be showcased at at the Nakuru Players Theatre until Sunday.
