For many of us in Nakuru, the closure of 7D feels like the end of an era. Some places are more than clubs; they become landmarks in our lives, carrying memories that refuse to fade. For me, 7D was exactly that.

‎I first stepped into 7D in 2019, immediately after relocating from Nairobi for work. At the time, I was still trying to adjust to a new town, new people and a completely different pace of life. But one night at 7D changed everything.

‎I remember being shocked by the energy in the club. The music never stopped, the dance floor remained full and somehow people never seemed to get tired of dancing. The vibes were unmatched.

‎In fact, after one unforgettable night of partying, I walked out of the premises at 6:30 in the morning something I had never done before in my life.

‎7D was also more than just a place to have fun. It became a meeting point for friends, workmates and random catchups. It was where we hosted Nairobi boys visiting Nakuru, because they also reckoned it was the place to be.

‎It is a place where after-work plans would suddenly become full-blown nights out and where one day we even took our cool bosses for drinks. Somehow, everyone had a story connected to that place.

‎Of course, not every memory was smooth. I vividly remember one terrifying night when I lost my friend inside the club. I thought he had left without telling us, only to later discover he had blacked out in the washroom. The panic and fear of not knowing whether he was safe is something I still remember clearly.

‎Then came the rebranding. Personally, I loved the old setup of the iconic red tent, the pressure heaters and being a proud “backbencher,” because that side carried the real vibe. Before the glass dome and the changes, the atmosphere felt raw, warm and authentic.

‎The times I went there after the transformation, I still enjoyed myself fully. One of my favorite memories was celebrating my girl’s birthday there as we partied till morning. It was also at 7D where I had my first MC Gogo experience, and what a time it was.

‎One thing I genuinely regret is never experiencing the famous 7D Aluta parties. The stories people tell about them still sound legendary, and missing out on that experience will always feel like unfinished business.

‎As the curtains finally close on 7D, one thing remains certain the memories made there will live with me and many of us forever.
