Nakuru couples and lovers of love were treated to a romantic night during the beautiful My Indie Valentine's event on Saturday evening.

Setting its stage on a cliff next to Lake Elementaita, music lovers got to enjoy music with a backdrop of the scenic lake’s view.

The tent set up offered solace for people to enjoy the event without worrying about how hot the sun was out there.

Body art, fun games and ecstatic music characterized the event, where art was not restricted to children alone.

Folks enjoyed as Infinity artists from Naivasha used their faces and arms as the canvas to draw amazing art.

For those who wanted to put their artistic skills to test, they got canvas pieces to free style, with some guidance from the artists around.

Some could not hide their smiles after they got to the end of it, since they created paint works they could take home with them.

From the art section, music lovers were taken on a musical journey by bass guitarist Victor Oroba and afro grooving artist 2tea Wainaina who were the main acts of the day.

The music started nice and slow and soon after everyone joined in. The flow of the artists and fans was so in sync that you would think people had attended a jamming session prior to the event day.

The music got me to a point of saying this can make me fall in love.

The event was family friendly as children had a lot to do on the side, with engaging games to participate in.

Adult games ranged from cards, chess, scrabble among others.

Red Panda event organiser, Alex Chege, says that the Indie series is meant to bring people outdoors to enjoy nature and experience art in a different space.

"Indie folks is done by artists who are not attached to labels but are doing amazing work with their craft. This event is meant to connect people with rich talented artists around Nakuru. The whole idea is to move with artists with amazing craft in our locality. We have 2tea on set who is an amazing singer with a unique voice and his music widely loved," he says

Alex says other than the day’s event, the Valentine's dinner is something they decided to incorporate for folks who would be camping to enjoy also.

" We thought of having some valentine's dinner also just to allow those who missed out on celebrating on February 14, to do something over the weekend with their partner," he says.

Music and bonfire marked the evening for people who were camping.
