Why Nakuru parties harder on Saturday than Friday

There's been a lot of talk about the vibrant party scene in Nakuru.

People from far and wide flock to this city to experience its wild parties, claiming that ‘there's no party like a NaxVegas party’. 

Some believe that the revellers in Nakuru are seeking a deeper connection with themselves, trying to escape or find solace from whatever troubles them.

Influencer Brian Mutinda once shared his experience on Twitter after a night out in Nakuru. He compared it to Loft's sherehe, previously considered intense, and concluded that the night life in Nakuru must be fuelled by something profound.

"Them brothers down there must be going through something," he remarked.

Mtaa Wangu, noticed an interesting trend in Nakuru. Contrary to the commonly held belief that Fridays are the ultimate party nights, most joints in Nakuru are packed on Saturdays.

Duncan Kamau, a second-hand clothes seller, prefers going out on Saturdays because he has a free day on Sunday to rest properly after a night of drinking.

His physically demanding job leaves him with little energy to go out on Fridays.

Boniface Waithaka, who works in a tech company, explains that Saturdays are perfect for him to hang out with friends and family. 

He appreciates having enough time during a night out, knowing that he can rest on Sunday before returning to work.

Robert Saitoti, a supervisor at Groundless Lounge, corroborates the observation, stating that people prefer to have a laid-back day on Fridays, often opting for takeaway drinks instead of staying at the club.

However, he notes that Saturdays are different whereby many people who had travelled on Friday from different areas get to enjoy a full night of partying and leisure.

The freedom of the weekend allows them to stay out late and return home on Sunday. 

To accommodate the diverse crowd, the lounge organizes events with guest DJs and artists on both Fridays and Saturdays.

Eric Kibambasi, Manager at Chilli's Tavern, believes that the success of a party night, whether on a Friday or Saturday, depends on their marketing efforts. 

He acknowledges that the nights can be unpredictable, and they have focused on understanding their customers' needs, encouraging feedback for improvement, and acting upon it.
