Menengai oilers have registered yet another win after thrashing visiting team Kisumu RFC 48 – 7 in their Kenya cup match day six. Toppling Kisumu extends their unblemished record, marking their sixth win of six matches played.

Oilers maintained pressure on their opponent, leaving nothing to chance.

All through the match, they upheld a vigorous play matched with technical skill. They made their first touch down through the boots of John Okoth, after which Dennis Abukuse made a successful conversion.

Key on showing their might on the field, Oilers made successive tries through Beldad Ogeta and Elkeans Musonye , Abukuse and two penalty kicks by halftime drawing the game to a break with 23 points lead.

Visitors Kisumu put up a fight and braced for a try and made a successful conversion, carding seven points on the board after which oilers silenced them.

During the second half of the match, Dennis Abukuse had a nice showdown as he moved his team’s points from a 30-7 by halftime to 36 points, through two penalty kicks and an additional try together with his team mate Andrew Odero to solidify their win.

Off the joyous moment, two Menengai players, Chrispine Shitundo and Destrious Ifedha plunged themselves in a disciplinary issue attracting yellow cards, forcing the team on a 13-man line play.

On the other hand, Nakuru RFC put up a fight with KCB, but however, lost to them by eight points, in a match they anticipated a win to model up their point on the log.

In a very competitive match, the bankers had a slow start but showed their might as the match progressed. Although they missed the bonus point, second placed KCB registered a 20-12 win in their favour.

So far Menengai oilers and the Bankers hold an undefeated streak, whereas Nakuru RFC has had a win, draw and four losses.
