The second edition of the Naivasha Champions League concluded on December 15, capping off an exhilarating 10-month run, filled with thrilling moments.

This season saw the entry of 10 new teams, including Naivasha Police FC, Jungle FC, and Eleven Stars FC, who performed exceptionally well and secured top-four finishes. Their strong debut has established them as teams to watch in the coming season.

The standout team of the tournament was Naivasha Police FC. Competing for the first time, they stunned fans by winning the title.

In a gripping final against Oserian FC, Naivasha Police triumphed 5-3 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw, showcasing tactical brilliance and composure under pressure.

Defending champions Dudutech exited in the group stage, signalling a shift in dominance. The success of the newcomers underscored the importance of adapting tactics to stay competitive in this high-paced league.

Nini Farm 105 FC defeated Kamere Ladies FC 2-0 to claim the inaugural title, further expanding the competition's reach and impact.

With a total of 130 teams participating the league's growth in just its second year is a testament to its rising popularity.

Modelled after the UEFA Champions League, the tournament structure includes a group stage for the top 16 teams, while those eliminated in the round of 32 compete in the ‘Naivasha Confederation Cup.’

Tournament sponsor, lawyer Joseph Njoroge emphasizes the event’s mission to nurture grassroots talent in Naivasha, an area that has seen a decline in sports development in recent years.

“Our goal is to expose raw talent while maintaining professionalism and discipline among the teams. This approach ensures that players have the opportunity to advance to national and international levels,” Njoroge states optimistically.
