Police in Nakuru are on the hunt for a Toyota Prado that hit a form two student, from Lanet Secondary school, leaving him dead on the spot.

According to Nakuru East Sub-County police commander, Mohamed Wako, the 15-year-old, Lusiano Mureithi, was hit at Mwariki area, along the Nakuru-Nairobi highway, at around 6 am, as he was heading to school on his bicycle.

“The case is a hit and run incident. The driver is unknown and we are on their radar. We are appealing to members of the public who might have information that may lead to the identification of the car and arrest of the driver to come out and share the information,” he says.

According to eyewitnesses, the boy was first hit from behind by a Prado and then hit by a second vehicle.

“One of the boys’ schoolmate was present as the accident happened. He was accompanied by one of the boda-boda riders to the boy’s home to inform his parents of the unfortunate incident that befell their son,” one of the eye witnesses said.

At the scene of the accident, the boy’s lifeless body lay there, with his school shoes strewn across the tarmac. His bicycle was disassembled with its parts scattered at the scene.
