David Kiiru and his father were thrown into jubilation after getting a message back that he had scored an A plain of 84 points.

In an interview with Mtaa Wangu at Anestar Boys High School, Kiiru emotionally expressed his victory giving thanks to God, his parents and teachers whom he said highly contributed to his excellent performance.

“I received the news while at the Shamba ploughing for potatoes at our Ngorika farm. The day had started off as usual with me heading to the farm with my dad armed with a Jembe and Radio and as we went by our business, that is when I released resulted were being released,” he reveals.

Eager and nervous to know his fate, Kiiru sent out his message to check on his performance. Upon receiving his results, he was thrilled to be among top students in the country with A plain of 84 points.

“I was overjoyed and just picked my jembe and rushed out from the shamba celebrating with my father. I expected to performed well but seeing my dream come true has overwhelmed me,” he says

The young lad whose favourite subject was Mathematics says, he would love to pursue medicine at the University of Nairobi and get to fulfil his long life heart desire of providing for his parents who have struggled to put him through school.

Kiiru’s father Joseph Njoroge says he is proud of this fifth born son who today made him proud.

“The task is now up to me to see that his dream of pursuing medicine materializes. He is a great inspiration to his younger siblings who have been looking up to him. Kiiru is a humble, obedient, hardworking young man and I am grateful his hard work was not in vain,” says Njoroge.

Njoroge who is a full-time farmer says seeing Kiiru through campus might be his biggest challenge due to financial constraints but he hopes for the best.

On the other hand, Kiiru’s Principal Mr Patrick Ng’etich, praised him for being a smart and obedient student.

He noted that the school has performed well this year and they are proud of their students.

At the time of publishing of this story, the school had registered three A plains and more than 20 A minus.
