Nakuru County Police Commander Samuel Ndanyi today supervised the reopening of War memorial hospital.

The hospital had been shut down after directors of the facility were arrested on charges of forging land documents to extend lease of the land where the hospital sits.

The arrest of the directors saw the County Government of Nakuru take over the hospital, despite existence of a court order barring the county administration.

During the reopening process today, there was heavy police presence at the facility.

Hospital workers had also gathered outside the facility in anticipation of its reopening.

At the same time, groups of unknown young men also showed up at the facility in hundreds of numbers .

It was not immediately known what their motive was.
