18-year-old Jesse Kamawera, who was reported missing close to one month ago has been found.

According to his father Mr. James Kamawira, the teenager was found at Nakuru Teaching and Referral hospital (PGH) where he was receiving treatment.

"I have now learnt that my son was involved in a hit and run road crash along stem-pipeline area and was rushed to hospital by traffic police officers," he said.

Jesse was reported missing on December 10, 2023, when he failed to return home after leaving a church service at Chosen Generation Church.

He continues to say that doctors at the hospital confirmed that Jesse suffered from a concussion and had injuries on his arms and body, all signs of a hit and run.

"For the better part of two weeks my son had fallen into a coma and it was only in the third week that he recovered. Doctors say he had lost his memory therefore there was no way he could know who he was or even tell the nurses his identity," he said.

Mr James says that he received information from his neighbour who was told by a doctor who was attending to the child, after the doctor saw the missing alert of the boy on a Facebook post.

"Upon arriving at the hospital yesterday, we found that Jesse was alive. While in hospital he was referred to as patient unknown 038," he said.

According to James, due to the memory loss, it took his son a few minutes before he could recognize the father and the elder brother.

"My son is now at home in stable condition and he is able to walk although there are signs of being weak which are understandable due to the concussion he had suffered," he added.

Mr James concluded by saying he would like to thank the power of social media and all those who helped spread the message of his missing son.
