Poetry lovers were on Sunday treated to an afternoon of good poetry and music performances as Upgrade Poetry, marked its 10-year anniversary and the 100th show edition.

The event was colored by poetry, music, comedy, and smooth dance from the audiences and artists on stage.

During their performance, Nelax Music took the audience on a music tour as their performance cut across different native languages and counties of origin. Talk of “Batoto Balingo” to up-tempo music and a touch of zilizopendwa.

Uba Wilson and Oscar Ogero a.k.a Gufy were MCs of the day and they did not let the mood go low during breaks. Uba’s rib-cracking jokes almost left the audience going short of breath.

Also Performing on stage was Nasara the Poet, Simor Music, Gufy, Uba Wilson, Nexal Music, and more artists and poets.

In their speech, the three founders of Upgrade Poetry Simon Kangaru, Oscar Ogero and Uba Willison passed on a heartwarming message to their audience, thanking them for the extended support they have given them over the years to ensure the success of the monthly poetry show.

The event which started at 3 pm was attended by more than 150 people who came to celebrate the milestone the poetry show has made and all the artists who have been performing there.

A cake was cut to mark the end of the colorful event.
