The last time she was seen in the public eye was April 20, 2023.

Wrapped in a black hijab that complemented her long black dress, Governor Susan Kihika met with Muslim women ahead of the Eid Ul fitr celebrations the following day.

In her charismatic personality, Kihika mingled with the women, distributing food items amidst laughter, never to be seen again until Monday, May 29, 2023.

Today, she arrived at the Nakuru showground for the Conference on Ending Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in the Rift Valley, wearing a pearl necklace with matching earrings topped with her famous smile.

Her fit of the day was a royal blue blazer, black pants and three-inch mule heels.

Ms Kihika freely shook hands with political leaders present at the event and held brief chats with the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, as leaders took to the podium to address alcohol and drug abuse in the region.

During her highly spirited speech, the Governor did not address the issue of her absence. She however put across a joke to the media to cover her presence at the event, just as they had publicised her absence.

Ms Kihika certainly found some humour with Mr Gachagua’s speech when he narrated how he used to drink alcohol 10 years ago, but has since stopped after giving his life to Christ.

Despite being away from public events in the County, Kihika remained present through her social media accounts.

Any one not privy to her absence could not tell as her communication team kept her social media pages alive.

In fact, every Sunday, the team would post a photo of the Governor, ever smiling, accompanied by a bible verse and a message wishing Nakuru residents a great Sunday.

During the week, photos of projects ongoing in various parts of the county were shared on her pages as well.

Questions from residents on various social media platforms about the whereabouts of Kihika were swiftly ignored by her communication team and bloggers allied to her.

It would take a keen eye to notice the absence of Nakuru’s third boss.
